The Pizza Man

Today was Wednesday again.  I taught preschool in the morning and then had to head over to the school for Joseph’s soccer practice.  On the way home from soccer practice, Joseph and I both took pictures of the Senayan traffic circle. This crazy intersection is where I spend a good deal of my life.  In the middle of the circle is a statue of a muscular man carrying a dish of flames.  It is supposed to be a tribute to youth.  The statue and flame are supposed to represent Indonesian youth and their “never ending spirit to serve the country.”  Apparently everyone calls it the Pizza Man since the dish looks like a hot pan pizza…lol.

View of the traffic around the Senayan traffic circle.  The base of the Pizza Man is in the upper left hand corner.  There are fountains around the statue that sometimes function and sometimes not.
